What is Design Thinking for Engaged Learning?

This model supports educators in developing and incorporating collaborative project based learning in the classroom using a 10 stage design thinking process through which students develop design based ways of knowing. This model was designed specifically for educators looking to implement evidence based high impact practices in the classroom.

Length of the Program 

This is an online asynchronous 6-week workshop, with engagement in learning activities and discussions expected every week. Optional Zoom discussion sessions will be available.

What you can earn from Completing the Program 

Participants who successfully complete the course will receive a certificate of completion (Sample Below). This badge represents the successful completion of the program by meeting its required outcomes.

Jonan Donaldson, PhD is a learning scientist in the Center for Teaching Excellence at Texas A&M University where he is leading the development of the new Innovation and Design for Exploration and Analysis in Teaching Excellence (IDEATE) program for scholarship of teaching and learning. He has a PhD in Educational Leadership and Learning Technology from Drexel University. His specialties include design thinking, constructionist learning, critical pedagogy, epistemic learning, and creativity.
